Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine and Inland Isle are jamming out for weekend 4 of Road to Rendezvous!
Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine | 3 pm
“An essential force in the Americana roots music scene” (KHOL 89.1FM), Aaron Davis & The Mystery Machine were likened to heroes by Wyoming Public Radio as “the vibe of The Band going throughout.” The quartet sets the stage with poetic amplitude, three-part vocal harmony and a deep well of sonic textures in a downhome fusion of Wyo-Americana, roots-country, ‘70s soul-rock, pensive indie-folk, and “searing slide guitar" (Country Weekly). Over the course of a dozen albums of original music, Davis has been described as a “truly phenomenal songwriter” (Americana UK) with “a combination that goes down like top-shelf bourbon” (Austin Chronicle). Inland Isle | 4:30pm
Inland Isle’s members were bound to find each other in the small – but surprisingly deep – music scene in Jackson, Wyoming. Drawing from indie rock, Americana and chamber pop influences, the four-piece band’s songs are anchored by the sometimes introspective, other times incisive lyrics sung by songwriter-guitarist Patrick Chadwick atop lush vocal harmonies.
Released in 2021, Inland Isle’s eight-song debut album, Time Has Changed Us, reckoned with the aftermath of upheaval in America and its effects on relationships, community and livelihoods. It was lauded by Glide magazine as a “big Laurel Canyon sound,” and by Under the Radar as “rich heartland rock, folk harmonies, and anthemic vocal hooks.” The band has been releasing new singles from their forthcoming follow-up album, In Denial, due out in early 2025.
Often confused as brothers at shows, Chadwick and lead guitarist Dusty Nichols each grew up in Massachusetts – and even lived in the same Boston-area neighborhood – but the pair of songwriters didn’t meet until moving cross-country. Inland Isle is rounded out by prolific musicians Leif Routman on bass and Liam O’Neill on drums.
