My name is Jenny, I am the Operations Manager for JHRL, and I want to share one of my Jackson Hole winter passions, fat biking! One of the great things about Jackson Hole is the number of things to do on or off of the slopes. There is not enough time to do everything, but fat biking is truly one of my favorite winter activities.
I vividly remember the first time I ever rode a fat bike 6 winters ago. I was instantly hooked and Jackson just so happens to be a fat biking mecca.
When I’m not on the slopes you can find me in 1 of my 3 favorite fat biking spots:
Cache Creek – Just minutes from town square, Cache Creek is a winter wonderland for all winter sports. Many of the trails are groomed making the fat biking incredible. You can have your choice of single track or wide-open groomed trails following alongside the beautiful Cache Creek.
Granite Hot Springs – This just so happened to be the ride that made me “instantly hooked”. Ride 10 miles of groomed trails to Granite Hot Springs surrounded by the sound of Granite Creek, mountain vistas and the occasional dog sled team. You’ll definitely want to take a soak in the hot springs for the full effect.
Turpin Meadow Ranch –The drive is well worth the day you’ll spend exploring 15km of Nordic and fat biking trails. They even have a cozy lodge to refuel in.
No need to own a bike! Hoback Sports, conveniently located on Broadway in the town of Jackson, has everything you need to get out the door and on the trails. You definitely won’t regret experiencing how magical winter bike riding can be! I’ll see you out there.
